Dairy Products

Honey
Drama, surrounded by mountains and habitats full of flowers and plants, is a paradise for its beekeepers. With special types of honey, such as lavender honey, mountain tea flower honey, cottonwood honey, etc., it is a new point of view in maintaining an eternal production with new notes. The benefits of consuming honey have been known since ancient times, now modern beekeepers use their knowledge to produce healthy and nutritious preparations based on the members and without additional harmful additives, such as cocoa honey, peanut paste, hazelnut and many more. Meats and sausages
The cured meats of Drama are known all over Greece. Traditional sausages, pastourmas, pork with herbs, etc. What is not so well known, is that the origin of the raw materials is also from Drama. What sets these recipes apart is the authenticity of the meat’s taste. Bovine and lamb goats are raised in Drama, and there is also a wide variety of hunting.
Handmade pasta and pies
The women of Drama keep the traditions through recipes that they preserve from generation to generation. This is how women’s cooperatives were created that create small traditional culinary miracles. In the cooperatives, handmade pasta, pies, sauces and jams are produced daily from pure local ingredients collected by the women. Pies, some traditional and others “teased”, are the most well-known preparation. You can also find dumplings, couscous, trachanas, chirons and many more that will inspire you to create your own dishes.
Wines
The area of Drama, as evidenced by the scattered archaeological findings, was in ancient times a vast vineyard, which justifies the worship of the god Dionysos in several parts of the plain as well as in Drama itself. But the cultivation of the vine and the production of wine is not only a typical agricultural process. It is also an indication of well-being and level of civilization. “Wine (gar) gladdens the heart of man.” Having been included in the “Wine Routes” program and having been integrated into the “Vineyard of Northern Greece”, it has international distinctions that have been obtained in recent years by the wine producers of Drami and clearly show the excellent specifications of their units, the interest they invest in high winemaking art but also the excellent in every respect natural conditions that the land of Drama ensures them.
